Weekly Photo Challenge: Weathered

I can imagine for ‘weathered’ that other people will have used a lot of buildings and old architecture, which is understandable as they are changed by the weather a lot. However, I see this at my work a lot. I work as a manager at a climbing wall and ropes like these save people’s lives a hell of a lot. The picture is of six ropes that were cut up by myself because they are no longer usable. They have seen different weather; cold, warm, rainy. They have rubbed against rock and against artificial climbing walls. They have held people up as they take that leap and miss the crimp hold they were aiming for. Yet, even though they are weathered and used, they can still be helpful as a small piece of rope for people to practice their knots on, and despite being weathered, they can still look beautiful!
